Was lucky enough to catch CBC Trio performing a Django Reinhardt themed show. The sound was amazing, much better than listening to a CD. True the room downstairs doesn't fit a large audience, but like with any other jazz bar, the smaller the place the more intimate the experience. That being said, you're also bound to be victim of at least one late-night group of friends who don't seem to appreciate the music over being rowdy and talking the whole time. This stays true to other jazz bars in other cities. From the bar, I could easily see the sax player who was standing, and I caught most of the upright bass player's solos. By switching spots after the first set, I got a view of all three cats.

Wonderful live jazz music , bar staff was friendly and attentive. A little dated inside but it somehow gives it more charm. Great place to end an evening with soothing live jazz.

If you are looking for an intimate jazz bar with local flavour that is heavy on ambiance and character, you will love this hidden gem. This was the "find" of our trip!
