I went here last year because I was having severe discomfort in my eye and my vision was blurred. I went to a walk in where they told me I had a stye (I knew that wasn't the case) so I booked an appointment at FYI. They charged me for a full eye exam when he spent about two seconds looking at my eye and saying I had an infection in my cornea. ...Little did I know that this exam that I paid $100 for should of been covered under Alberta health care, they didn't inform me. When I went back for a follow up, I was told because I paid he would perform a full exam....he failed to do so. I was in and out in 2 minutes. So This year, I started to get severe discomfort in my eye, I decided to go to a different doctor at a different clinic. This doctor actually took the time to look into the problem and it turns out I have a condition that gives me chronic inflammation in my eye and I have a bunch of scar tissue Build up. If left untreated , It could permanently effect my vision and could require surgery. Imagine how upset I was to find out that my vision could be permanently blurred in my right eye because the previous doctor failed to look deeper into my issue and failed to do a proper follow up and exam . I will never come back to FYI and I will be sure to tell anyone about this experience. This is not on my personal Google account because I don't wish to even be contacted by FYI,

From the initial consultation with Shalina to the actual pickup of my lens the customer service was fantastic! I have a older pair of frames and wanted to get just new lens. When I enquired I was informed what the cost was, and the coatings that come with the lens. When I was called that the my eyeglasses were today, I went in for a fitting and the Rod assisted me and even did a quick patch on my frame. I would highly reccomend them!

Thanks to Kyra for exceptional customer service. I'm from out of town and I accidentally ripped a contact lens - with a few hours to go before an important meeting. We called around and most eyecare shops were unhelpful or unable - but Kyra managed to salvage a sample pair of lenses and save the day! You would have a client for life if I lived in Edmonton because you helped out where few others could. THANK YOU! Highly recommended.

I recommended my spouse to go to FYI doctors at west ed mall to get her eyeglasses adjusted on Tuesday June 14/16 at approx. 5-6PM. She went in and asked to have her transitions glasses adjusted. She advised the woman doing the adjustment that the glasses were not comfortable on her face and the woman advised they were fine and she was just used to wearing crooked glasses. The agent also never cleaned her glasses and the customer service was lacking. After all was said and done, my spouse had to go somewhere else to have her glasses adjusted to make them comfortable and have the courtesy of having them cleaned. Needless to say, my spouse is due for new glasses, sunglasses and an eye exam and we thought we had found our new optometrist in this business, as I had just spent around $1,500 there a few months prior, but we will not be going back for rude and discourteous service that does not meet our expectations.

I've purchased five pairs of prescription eyewear (one pair of prescription sunglasses and four pairs of prescription glasses) from FYidoctors over the years. Each time has been an impeccable experience. Staff has always been friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. Selection is excellent - if they don't have a pair in-store, they can order just about anything online. Prices have always been competitive with any other eyewear store. Would recommend to anyone!
