#1. In 30 years I have never had an incorrect prescription until I went here on the suggestion of a friend. # 2. Students used far too much dilation solution on both myself and my friend. # 3. I ordered new glasses online trusting the prescription was correct. An online prescription eyeglass service I have used for several years I still have my sunglasses from.this online service. From 7 years ago and they are better than the prescription from IL EYE INSTITUTE. I took the glasses back to IL EYE Inst. and they claimed the progress line was placed to to high by the online manufacturer Wrong..Thec online service agreed to replace lenses but it was not their mistake after all The prescription is still off and my $200 glasses unusable . Next .I will go to the best I used before :Art of Vision at Target West Loop and have them fix this when I am able to afford it I did check out Illinois Eye Institute eyeglass shop on my first visit. 2 staff were taking orders at their sales desk and one said " We will be with you soon. " After those 2 customers left I waited while they checked their personal phones for whatever. Joked to one another across me to each others desks .Receptionist came and brought them cookies which they began to enjoy as I sat and watched in wonder how they keep their jobs..Mind you Iess than 5 ft away and facing them. When 10 min passed I reached for my phone and began to record .Suddenly they said " oops Can I help you !" Suggestion : Go to a commercial establishment were they have to fight for customers and not an 'Instutute' . Commercial exams at stores are excellent and only $52.00 not the $200 they charge.

For patients: The students are wonderful; they are very informed and determined. Enjoyable personalities. Great atmosphere for anyone wanting an eye exam. For prospective students: The school itself however is disappointing. Other than the curriculum and placement (Chicago is wonderful) there is not much. The cafeteria is absolutely horrendous. The library needs to be updated. The dorms/dorm kitchen you can forget about; think about a small box and then try living in it. Very small fitness area. You'd think they'd keep it up to date with all the money they're sucking from their students and donations. I was also surprised at how rude some of the staff was. Proceed with caution.

Very thorough eye exam. Everyone is pleasant, respectful, courteous, and professional from security, the staff, and doctors. I highly recommend this place.
