I have been going to see Dr. Roy at the Nepean Optometric Clinic since I was a teen (now in my late 30's) and her personal care has always kept me coming back. I once thought I'd try going somewhere closer to home, but remembered that the outstanding service is exactly what makes it worth going the extra distance for. Recently though, with the help of a tech/ rep, I selected glasses that were just OK (because, although extremely nice and knowledgeable, the tech/ rep and I disagreed on many pairs, and kept telling me they looked great despite my obvious uncertainty) and, feeling let down/ thinking other choices weren't available, I went forward with the lesser of the evils. Oddly, I happily found a pair of "cat-sy" sunglasses that were exactly what I was looking for, but I don't think the rep made that connection. So when I returned to pick them both up the following week, there were dozens of new pairs of glasses that were exactly what I was looking for. I was very disappointed seeing these funky glasses all around and I was about to walk away with a pair that were "meh" at best. Thankfully, one of the sweet administrative assistants (Maria) saw how upset I was and was given permission to change them for me (at my expense - but who cares!? I was thrilled!!). As someone whose eyes don't change much and will happily wear the same pair for years, with minimal insurance coverage, and wants the most out of my investment, this meant SO MUCH to me. It confirmed yet again why it is worth driving 1 hr. to come here. Honestly, that was "going the extra mile"!!!! So the only constructive criticism I have is that technician/ representatives who assist in selecting glasses should exude a flair for fashion and style to give the clientele confidence in their suggestions, and be sure to "read" the client. And if you're just not connecting with that client, switch with someone who can, because at the end of the day, although you can't please everyone (and yet the customer is NOT always right but sometimes is not a great communicater), the chance of success is higher for everyone. Thank you all for making me a very happy client. ♥ ♥ ♥

I have been seeing Dr. Litwiller for several years, first in Carleton Place and now at the Nepean Optometric clinic. In my opinion she is the best optometrist I have ever had. My most recent experience was seeing her after my first cataract was removed. My old glasses made me dizzy, and witha 5 to 6 month wait for my second eye to be done, I was hoping she could help. She saw me on short notice, and took care of my issue. I have noticed over the years that she conforms to the highest standards of practice. She is professional, friendly, takes time to listen. At my latest visit, even though she was already working overtime, and was the only optometrist in the clinic, she agreed to see a patient on an emergency basis, even though she could have sent him all the way to the Ottawa General Hospital for assessment. In my opinion, this is what a true professional does.

A few months ago I went in for new glasses. I was examined by Dr. Litwiller whom in my opinion is an excellent doctor. Extremely thorough, no rush, and took time to explain procedures and the results of my examination. The staff who helped my choose, fit, and order my new glasses were fantastic. These are the best glasses that I have ever had because naturally Nepean Optometric is the best. Thank you

My family and I have been patients at Nepean Optometric Clinic for over 15 years. Our experience with Dr. Roy has been amazing. She has guided us through laser eye surgery, eye turns, eye patches, glasses, and contact lenses, all with a great level of expertise, patience, and kindness. The technicians at the clinic are marvelous. My children have worn glasses since they were 3 years old and have always been excited to meet with the technicians to select their new glasses each year. And when my children were old enough to get contact lenses, the teaching sessions by the technicians were informative, relaxed, and effective. From the optometrists, to the technicians, to the administrative staff, Nepean Optometric Clinic offers families a well-rounded and wonderful customer service experience. We can’t imagine going anywhere else for our eye care needs!
