My family members have been patients at Dr. Joseph Elmalem & Associates for over 15 years. During that time we have consistently received excellent care from several of the doctors who practice at the office and the welcoming, kind and knowledgeable front desk staff who support these doctors. Recently, my 90 year old mother had the misfortune of developing a very serious and aggressive eye infection. The office is open 7 days a week so my mother was able to be seen on a Sunday quickly and conveniently. The quick diagnosis of Dr Jeremy Han and his efforts to have my mother referred immediately to the best possible care were exceptional. The front desk staff, whom we have always found to be welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable, went above and beyond to provide assistance getting my mother referred to the appropriate specialist. The front desk staff also gave us support and showed my mother great kindness at a very scary and upsetting time. My mother was operated on later that day at Toronto Western Hospital, followed up by her specialist there, Dr. Han and Dr Joseph Elmalem locally and thanks to the work of all of the staff at Dr Joseph Elmalem & Associates my mother's vision was restored and a full recovery was achieved. Throughout the over 15 years with this practice, my family has received competent care and excellent service and we highly recommend Dr. Joseph Elmalem & Associates.

I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Dinta Patel as my optometrist. She’s warm and friendly and exudes great compassion for her patients. Always running on time, Dr. Patel will still take the time to answer all of my eye questions. And whenever I have an eye urgency, she will kindly fit me into her busy schedule. Dr. Patel is fully competent and professional, who really cares!

I have been going to this optometrist for over 13 years. In April, I had a regular eye exam and since my contacts were quite dry, they decided to fit me with different lenses switching me from monthlies to dailies. These new lenses kept moving around my eyes. After a week, they began to burn my eyes, I could not see and my eyes were bloodshot red. I went back for a follow up appointment and the receptionists gave me a really hard time questioning me that nothing was actually wrong. At this follow up appointment, I was told I have excessive protein build up in my eye and especially in my left eye. I was put on steroids for 3 weeks and was told not to wear contacts for this time period. After a month and I went back to wearing contacts, this problem returned again. My eyes were burning, my contacts would not sit on my eyes and I could not see so I went back. I was told this time that there was still protein and that I needed to wear my glasses again and come back in another week. At this point I was frustrated after never having problems with my other contacts that I wore for 9 years. Since there were no clear answers and I never had a problem before, I went to another optometrist. She was appalled that I was told it was just protein build up. As it turns out, I have Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis that could have been caused from the friction of ill-fitting contacts. My new optometrist laughed at the poor fit, the contacts moving each time I blinked. She put me back in my old contacts with drops for the dryness and I haven’t had any issues since! Although this is great, this additional eye appointment cost me another $100 out of pocket. Dr. Elmalem’s office phoned me back regarding my experience and as it turns out he did diagnosis me with Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis but never told me!! This is not acceptable eye care from a professional.

Dr. Chen gave my parents a very professional and informative checkup. They were impressed by his knowledge and ability to explain the health of their eyes in simple and easy to understand terms. They recommend Dr. Chen to take care of your eyes.

They were great. Very polite and helpful. I was surprised with how quick we were seen.
