I went for an eye exam on June 22nd, and got a new pair of glasses. I picked them up the following week and could not see well. I was told to wear them for the weekend until I got used to them. I wore them a couple of days and they gave me a bad headache and I still couldn't see so I stopped wearing them and went back to see the doctor. I told him it seemed like something was off with the left eye but I wasn't quite sure what the problem was. He checked my left eye, made a slight change in prescription and sent them back to the lab. Got them back a few days later, still couldn't see. I took them somewhere else for a second opinion. I told them it seemed strange that they didn't check for proper alignment when I picked up the glasses. They explained that Dr. Cormier does not have an optician. An optometrist is not trained to do what opticians do, and vice versa. When you have a strong prescription such as mine, it's important for the optic centres of the lenses to be bang on, otherwise it induces prism, and you can't see. Mine were off by 3mm, so the optician at the other place provided the instructions to Dr. Cormier's receptionists to get that fixed. I dropped off my glasses once more on Monday morning this week, and received a call Thursday evening to let me know that they were not getting them fixed and to come get my money. The receptionists were very courteous and helpful, however, they are not trained opticians, so no one in Dr. Cormier's office is trained to be able to provide me with glasses that I can see with, despite the very high price I'm paying due to my high prescription. So, if you have a high prescription like me, please go somewhere that has trained opticians to purchase your glasses. I just wish that Dr. Cormier would have recommended that in the first place, and not overlooked the necessity of an optician when choosing and fitting glasses.

I was ignored by staff, my first prescription eyeglasses came back completely wrong since the incorrect prescription was sent to the lab... when I phoned to inquire when my correct prescription eyeglasses would be in (by this time I was a bit impatient, waiting ~3 weeks for simple eyeglasses), the owner's wife had a few choice words about me when she hung up the phone (she didn't realize she hadn't hung up yet and that I could hear everything she was saying). She explained that it's not always easy to deal with customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
