2 Stars This office took me in the next day when I first visited, which was great. :) I wanted to see how my eye's were as I am in my mid 20s and with technology and screens being used allot I felt it was time. Unfortunately, their business philosophy with an eye exam is which lens does this person need and try to sell it to them on the way out... Dr Doris Lu was very communicative and spoke to great extents about lens options for me. She also asked me allot of questions to understand when/where I feel like I could use glasses. The visit was informational and I learnt about some new lenses made for the 21st century which accommodate our extended screen exposure. Sadly, once the exam was over.. I was shown the frame options and pressured in a way that shouldn't be allowed in this type of practice. THIS WAS AN EYE EXAM I DIDN'T WANT TO BUY GLASSES/FRAMES. They even tried to sell me sunglasses and explained how much insurance would cover... overall I was very uncomfortable. Finally, when asking for the cost of the eye exam I was quoted 155$ but in reality they charged me 188$... Shady practice. I'm giving this practice the rating it deserves because I believe an eye exam is just that, an examination of the health of the clients eyes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dr Doris Lu is one of the best optometrist's I've seen in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. I went for a severe pink eye and she tested me right away. Prescribed me the right anti biotics and within a day I was able to work again. The receptionist are also very friendly and caring. The building itself is also very beautiful inside. Also Dr Doris Lu does 2-3 followups if you have an eye disease, all for free. Worth the money!

First visit with Dr. Lu. Seeking a second opinion about my eyeglasses prescription (from a large local optometry chain). Dr. Lu was knowledgeable and informative, communicated clearly with me and patiently answered all my questions. A remarkable person and a well-run shop. Highly recommended - I'll go back.

Went there about 6-7 years ago. It was an exercise in frustration. Clearly said which contact brand worked well for me, and wanted to stick with it. Kept getting pushed for other brands, which did not work. Back and forth at least four times. I felt I wasn't being listened to. Found a fair bit of sales pressure. Look, I get it, my eyes are important, but up selling isn't going to earn you a long term customer. It didn't. Suffice to say this was a while a go, and of course things can change. This was my experience at the time.

Having my eyes checked and choosing a new pair of sunglasses was a wonderful experience with Doris Lu and her team. She is thoughtful and thorough in checking my eyes and was able to really give me a better understanding on the health of my eyes. Her staff was so patient with me as I decided on a pair of sunglasses and not ever did I feel pressured to buy. I have been a patient of dr Lu's for years now and will continue to be.
