I ordered two pairs of glasses from Vision Care Optical on Bayview and am extremely disappointed in the after sales experience. The consultation went just fine. Betty is a sweet and polite lady. I had asked for two pairs one Transitions and one Polarized for two frames that I provided myself. Betty suggested getting AR and anti scratch coatings which I agreed to. When I came back later in the week to pick up my first pair I noticed that the screws were stripped which I immediately pointed out to Betty. Betty blamed the lab that she had sent the frames to. Citing that they most likely had students working on my order. Not really an acceptable answer as that is between her and supplier. Betty made no apology nor any attempt to make things right. On my second visit to pickup my sunglasses Betty asked how I liked the glasses and I brought up the issue of the stripped screws again. She gifted me a small bottle of lens cleaner and a keychain screwdriver. Not really a solution to my my issue but at least she tried this time. I decided to let it go. Yesterday was a bright and sunny day and I decided to give my new polarized glasses a go. To my dismay I noticed a lot of bounce back glare. So much so that it made wearing my polarized glasses pointless. I called Betty today to inquire if any coatings were applied to my sunglasses and was advised that she never orders AR coatings on any polarized lenses and I had been the only one to have complained. Betty asked to call me back after consulting with the lab to see if she could return them under warranty. As I waited for Betty's call I decided to do some research and discovered that an AR coating is almost universally recommended for the backside of a lens just to prevent the very issue that I'm experiencing. During the callback I relayed the information that I had gather and Betty became very flustered and defensive. I had stated that tight wrap around sunglasses like Oakleys wouldn't have had the issues that I'm experiencing and that frames such as the ones that I had should have had an AR coating applied and or at least strongly suggested. That is when Betty went on a rant about how it is not possible to get certain prescriptions in wrap around glasses and that she order AR coatings on my Transitions lenses. Betty also mentioned that to get the coating it would have been an extra $100 which I replied that's fine. If I had that option when I picked my lenses I could have made a different choice. Over all I am very disappointed in my purchases from Betty. I am now left with a pair of glasses that will most certainly give me issues due to the stripped screws and another pair that is completely useless as it fails to preform it's intended function.

It is a nice little optical store for those that need glasses. They take prescription if you need specific items.
