Giving an extra star simply because it was a good experience going in and dealing with the staff/optometrist. Otherwise poor service afterwards when it came to getting my prescription. Was told to pick out a model or two I liked and they'd check availability. After a month of leaving messages and voicemails nobody ever got back to me. Went to another place in Ottawa and immediately knew the availability of the models I liked and got them within the week, super easy. Was really disappointed here.

I visited with my wife on a Saturday afternoon. We met Jim and he took the time to explain the pertinent information about eyes, and our particular results. Jim is clear and patient and very straight forward. He worked with us, and within our coverage policy. I would recommend Jim and Main Street Optical. His email with receipt was timely (within a couple of hours) and he gave us many choices of frame styles. He let us choose, and explained the materials used in their manufacture. Thanks Jim!

I purchased frames from another optician but something was off so I went to Main Street Optical to see if there was something wrong with them. Jim was in instant help and explained to me why they weren't quite right, the fit being the primary reason. He showed me some frames he had in stock to show me the difference and even offered to fix the ones I already had if that was all I was looking for. I loved the ones Jim suggested so much (and they were not frames I would have picked myself) and thankfully I had the option to return the ones I had purchased before. So I returned my frames and went back to Jim for eyeglasses and sunglasses and am incredibly happy with the quality of the frames and lenses, and the professionalism, and kindess Jim and Emma exuded, especially to me, and I am incredibly picky and indecisive! Thanks Main Street Optical!

Jim has always been amazingly helpful when I have purchased prescription sun and regular glasses. He has a great knowledge and a very stylish selection of frames.

Jim is always there for my "falling off" glasses, my missing template screw, my micro-waved glasses, my dog chewed ones as well! In fact, on a cold snowy day, he's e'en there for a chat, mid-winter, late "Spring". Good man to know!
