I am a 2nd generation patient of central optometric now called FYI doctors or whatever. Some of the eye doctors are wonderful. But i was completely disgusted and grossed out when dr. carolyn haugen checked my eyes. My incident happened when i was about to place my chin into the chin rest for the eye exam, i looked at the chin rest and it was literally caked with crude from previous patients. Now this means 2 things, either there was a grimy little kid with food all on his face that had his chin in there before me, or this was a build up of body oils and dirt from many previous patients with absolutely no cleaning of equipment being down between patients. Either way the fact that the equipment was not sanitized between patients was such disgusting. I asked her to clean it and she did but i try to never see her if i can get away with it, but sometimes emergencies happen and i have to see her. I do noticed now that all the assistants use alcohol wipes to clean the chin and head rests on the equipment used before you see the drs the look down the road at the ballon and puff of air machines so hopefully the doctors are also cleaning things like this now. In closing you best believe i ALWAYS check the chin and head rest now before i stick my face on it!!
