Very good rooms, walls are well insulated from noise and you can hear practically nothing from outside the room. Bathrooms are a decent size and are well maintained, the air conditioning unit was dated but still worked fine and the beds were fantastic and so were the chairs. Only issue was that the front desk had a rather long and slow moving lineup with only one staff working when we checked in and checked out. Overall it was a great experience and I would stay here again if I were traveling near Calgary.

This is a tough review to write because we’ve been coming to this hotel every summer for a few years now and this is the FIRST time that it’s been less than awesome... Usually when we come, we get the “All Inclusive Package” which is a great deal for a family of 4 - two nights accommodation and includes all of your meals (even a boxed lunch for the zoo!), zoo passes for the family and taxes included for $499. In our experience, as long as you get a room with two beds, it’s always been the starting price of $499 in August (peak time) or we’ve upgraded to a jet tub for $599. At any rate, a great deal! This year we booked the same package but had some unexpected expenses arise so the week before I was online deciding what to do, and discovered that you now offer a one night package (zoo passes, breakfast only) starting at $175. So, I called and said “Hi, I am already booked for next week but see you have another package for one night, for $175 and wonder if it’s an option to switch to that one?” I was on hold for a bit but the gentleman came back and said “sure, no problem, I can do that!” When I arrived it was $250 plus taxes! In retrospect, I said the price to him and said what I wanted - he never quoted a price back, but still, if the package/price I asked for wasn’t available, shouldn’t he have said that?! For less than $250 more (as taxes were included in the all inclusive package), I could have stayed an extra night and enjoyed 4 extra meals... when I explained the situation, and your front desk staff is wonderful, he gave me $20 off but still, I paid over $75 more than I had planned to. He also said that package isn’t actually available this time of year for that price... but if that’s true, why have it on your site? And, why then is the all inclusive available for the starting rate? I’m a pretty savvy shopper and normally I question and request reservations in writing (for this reason) but after staying with you guys for 4 years, during peak time, while using an online package and ALWAYS receiving great service and advertised pricing, I left feeling pretty surprised and unhappy with the whole situation. Another crummy moment was we were told at the front desk (and given a voucher) for a buffet breakfast this morning so, the kids were super pumped (extra bacon! LOL) and then we got down there and there was no buffet... All in all, if not for the wonderful staff, this vacation would have been somewhat of a “bust”... that said, we’re going to shop around next year as I am super disappointed that you aren’t standing behind your website pricing anymore - that is what made you stand out and kept us coming back year after year :(

The location of this hotel is closer to the airport and not central to Calgary but if you're driving around, this hotel has a good location. It is great for if you're also heading out of the city to check out other features. It might not be one of those fancy hotels in the city centre but the staff and management make the hotel a great place to stay with great service, good facilities/rooms, clean and functional features and a good sized suite. It might not be super new but is well kept, clean and the features work and the rooms are spacious. I was very happy with what we got and was pleased with the stay. We ate in the dining room for breakfast and got something off the menu because the continental breakfast is a little limited. We got a king sized bed that was sufficient in terms of comfort. Nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave about. Would return for a stay in the future.

On a road trip to visit friends in Calgary, we stayed in this hotel, for the price you pay per night, wow was it worth it! Very nice, clean, spacious rooms. The building is nice and the interior is nice. The fitness center they have is the nicest one I have seen and I have stayed in multiple hotels. Staff were super friendly. Parking is good. I would stay here again whenever I am back to Calgary.

We enjoyed a nice brunch at the Executive Royal Hotel. I believe the restaurant was called Steels, located just inside the front of the hotel across from the service desk. Brunch included many options, and the service was fantastic. I joined my mother and sister, who had been there previously for such things as the Mothers day brunch and said it was even better then.
