Our Education-oriented non profit held a function at this Hall on March 3rd, 2018. We paid $500.00 (five hundred dollars) cash as damage deposit. We also paid $500.00 dollars cash for the use of the hall. On the day of the function, the place had not been swept and the urinal in the men''s urinal was out of order. Since it was a community event where all our guests came from one community we all know each other. So members of the community helped to clean up. We cleaned better that we found it. I called the building manager several times for our damage deposit. It took them three weeks to answer our call. Worse still when I went to collect the damage deposit, they took half of the deposit and gave us only $250.00 The reasons for holding back our hard-earned cash were: 1. The key we returned was sticking out from the mailbox (yet, nobody broke into the hall because there is an alarm) 2. The men's and ladies bathroom were a mess (even though the mens urinal was not working when we rented it and it stank).. My personal experience was not good, to say the least. I have rented halls in Edmonton since the 1980 s, ( for more than 30 years) and never lost money before because I always do due diligence. They spoke to us very nicely and seemed friendly, but in the end, they withheld our money for leaving a few balloons behind the curtains on the stage only. So you rent the hall at the risk of losing your money. Find attached proof that they took $250.00

The hall was super cleaned, big bar of fridge, and and walk-in fridge too..nice kitchen with plates, cups, saucers, teaspoons, fork and knives, pitchers but with out glasses and tablespoons. Washrooms were clean too. Hall has airconditioner too, cool for summer days.. Has round tables and rectangular table too. Nice mezzanine and stairs for a queenly walk. However, even if you are not serving liquor, you should buy a liability insurance. If you are renting just for a day. You are only allowed to set-up and stay from 12 mn to 12 mn. I recommended this hall to my clients because of the great experience before when Robert was the one in-charge of rentals. However, we had a bad experience dealing with the new in-charge from booking until the return of deposit. The hall was perfect for a party but her customer service was way too bad. Too many to elaborate the cons of renting this place. They only return $300 of the damage deposit to my client from $500. My client left the place as clean as it was and followed their checklist of what to do before locking the door. Nothing was damage during the rental. Does not returning the exact count of chairs placed upstairs equivalent to $200.00 dollars?Does anyone will remember where everything was placed before? Do you need to shout to the renter and tell her that she doesn't care of her time?I'm very frustrated with the way it turned out, because I super loved the hall. I will not recommend this hall again until they change the imposed policy of the in-charge and the way they handle the renters.
