This building has been much the same for decades now. As Red Deer has grown it has served the city fairly well. In the not to far off future it will need to be expanded. The seating shows it's age as they are the basic fold down variety. In general any event of duration will leave you feeling it afterwards. These need to be updated. As for the pricing this is increasing steadily and is approaching levels similar to larger venues in larger cities. Free parking for many events in the past now costs. A simple soft serve ice cream will run you slightly north of $5. It still serves it's purpose and can do so in the short term. If nothing were to change in the next 4-6 years I suspect the rating would drop to two stars.

It is always a great time at the Western Grounds Fair and Exposition. Being an awesome 😎 way to spend quality time with family and friends. It does not compare to the massive scale of the Calgary Sampede; howbeit, it is still a fantastic way to pass the day with tons of entertainment in multiple ways.

3 day convention. Venue was very good for 5,000+ who attended in the past weekend. House sound system works reasonably well but needs some work on dead speakers. HVAC kept up adequately for the size of the audience. The seating leaves a lot to be desired. Very uncomfortable after 6 hours of sitting. They are tight, very hard with no leg room to stretch. I realize the original purpose of the venue is for hockey so 2.5 to 3 hours max sitting. Overall good venue with excellent staff. Probably be back next year. I will wait and see,

Great place for any venue. Always a good time here! Grad, concert, circus, hockey. Done it all here. Most parking is pay parking depending on the event but it's not expensive

Nice place, but it needs more concession places as the lineups took way too long and then they were sold out of many of the items. Tiny seats with no cupholders.
