Need a great special event venue or an amazing wedding venue? The Pipe Shop at the Ship Yards is amazing. Its a superb mix of historic texture and modern venue conveniences. Located immediately adjacent to the popular Lonsdale Quay there is ample parking and easy access to all transit services.

I've done a few markets at The Pipe Shop. It's a beautiful venue that allows for a lot of cool air to get in to what otherwise could be a stuffy fishbowl, and in the summer it gets a lot of walking traffic which is great. The rustic support beams that are throughout the space lens to it's aesthetic but cut off a lot of view for people walking down market aisles. It makes it difficult to merchandise a table when a third of your space is getting cut off by a giant piece of wood. Pipe Shop, open the damn inside bathrooms to vendors. Seriously. When you're working your table alone you do not have time to go outside to those podunk portables which are never maintained during an event. All it takes is one unscrupulous individual and half the toilets are shut down because someone has peed all over one and suddenly the line ups are unbelievable. I can't spend fifteen minutes away from my table. Open the indoor bathrooms for vendors. Vendors and pregnant ladies. Seriously. The worst part about this venue is how unreasonable they are with the bathrooms. I did a winter market here once. Pouring rain and slushy snow, they wouldn't open the indoor bathrooms. Go freeze outside, enjoy standing behind your carefully handcrafted wares looking like a frozen wet rat. Otherwise, cute space. Sucky bathroom situation.

Super cool venue for an event! My friends had their wedding here and it was beautifully decorated by City Skyline Events.

Was there for an event hosted by DJI and a few local companies, place very clean, spacious and cozy. Parking was hard to find around that area and the nearby hotel/public parking lot was pretty expensive. Street parking nearby has 30mins or 1 hr limit. Plan ahead if you are driving there.

Went to an event here and found the space interesting. It's mostly a wide open hall with views of a nearby crane and a southward view of Vancouver. You could decorate it to your liking. When I first heard we were going to "The Pipe Shop", I expected something different...
