I went there for a wedding, the place is really nice but it has a terrible A/C and Managment problem.

Super informative, professional and welcoming. We were super pleased with this rehearsal space.

This is a sad story of a less than upfront landlord who in my opinion took advantage of my band and led us to believe we had a nice secure space to jam... Not a very trust worthy person in my opinion and not much of a man at all, because a man is upfront and honest, and has integrity in the face of his intentions. We joined this space back in November of 2013, and had been part of a group of bands that rented the space. It was great, no problems to mention, other than once my friend needed to rent a bass amp and they wouldn’t’ even rent it to us, because of some strange policy concerning monthly renters, we were willing to pay, but they wouldn’t let us… The problem began in April of 2014. The main tenant/band who managed the space decided to pull out, so my band decided we liked the space and would take on the responsibility of being the main tenant and managing the space if we could. The landlord accepted our proposal and had us sign a new contract, and we took over the space as is, we basically took over a space which was fully furnished and had been used for years without repair. We provided a new damage deposit and began making arrangements to manage the space for the bands that stayed on, plus got new bands to help lower the cost of rent. After the first month of being the official managers of the space, we thought it would be a good idea to add some sound baffles to the space, even though there were some already, we felt it could us some more… While we were adding these baffles the landlord came by and even offered to help us properly place them. What a nice guy eh? Wait… Another month went by and we again decided to invest in the space, as we assumed we’d be there a while… So another member of the band and I decided to buy a new PA and two new speakers ($2,000.00 upgrade)… Awesome!!! The space was coming alive and I’m sure the others bands were loving it too!!! Third month (July 2014), the landlord dropped a bombshell on us. He gave us 30 days to vacate the unit. Why? Not because we were shitty tenants, not because we did anything wrong at all… In fact he is turning the space into a recording studio!!! As if this guy didn’t know he was going to do this… We just took over 3 months ago, I suppose he wasn’t ready then, so he lead us on to fill his financial quota until he was ready to commit… He could have given us a hint or warned us not to invest too much into the space as he was thinking of doing this… This guy watched us invest over $2,000.00 into the space in less than three months of having taking over the unit and said nothing… To top it all off!!! He wants us to patch paint and remove all the furniture from the unit. But here’s the thing, we never brought in the couch, it was there when we rented the unit. The last band wasn’t asked to remove their dirty carpets, couch, etc. and nobody painted the room for us… We’ve literally had it for 3 months and this piece of $%#^ thinks that’s fair? They got their damage deposit back and we are being asked to clean up their mess and his property! I, nor any of the bands associated to this story, would rent from this guy, not hourly (cause he’s a douche), but ESPECIALLY not monthly (cause he’s a shyster)!!! In the end we got a new jam space on 2nd and Alberta! Like I said, he's a man not worth his word, and what kind of man is that?

This brand new facility is close to transit, has great rates (especially considering the high quality of the space) and has unbelievably helpful and friendly management. I have spent multiple sessions in the 'drum room' filming and recording my playing (multimedia equipment is available for rent) and the soundproofing and all new equipment is excellent. All of the amenities are comfortable and there's even a pool table and couches on the main floor. After Soundhouse opened, I've had no reason to go to any other studio--everything here runs circles around the competition and has really set the standard for rehearsal spaces in Vancouver. So impressed!
