A very quaint and homey lodge on Emerald Lake. It is surrounded by rent-able cabins and the second floor is a hotel. The decor and location definitely makes one feel at peace. The breakfast menu is a bit more expensive than other places but it is worth it for the view alone. An a la carte menu is available as well as a $23.00 buffet style breakfast. Do come a bit earlier as it does get busy. There are no reservations so it is first come first serve.

Not worth the high price tag. The rooms are old and not well maintained, there was mold growing on the ceiling in our bathroom, the bedding had a pungent odor that smelt of body odor and there was no sound proofing between rooms - you could even hear people talking on the floor below us. Also, be prepared to haul your luggage to your room as they don’t openly offer a bell service so don’t pack a lot, some of the hills can be pretty steep. Although the view from the lodge is beautiful, that is all you are paying for. It is much cheaper to visit Emerald Lake for a day trip and stay some place nicer for a better price. If you do choose to stay here, be prepared to pay high prices for a meal as well.

This is the worst hotel/lodge I've ever stayed in. The room was in poor condition and in dire need of maintenance. The fan in the washroom sounded like it was about to explode. There were cracks in the drywall. The room also had ants. The sheets had a weird BO smell. The staff was great and friendly except for housekeeping who woke us up at 09:30 telling us checkout was at 09:00 even though the welcome package said 11:00. We called the front office to confirm and checkout was at 1100. I'm not sure what that was about. The view was however beautiful and the fireplace in the room was nice but this does not make up for everything else. You're better off walking around emerald lake and then staying in Golden, it's a lot cheaper and much nicer.

Situated on scenic lake. You'll be able to enjoy the lake after 5-6, when the horse's head home. Not as crowded as Lake Louise, and a nice trail around the lake, canoe rentals are more affordable too. Too bad the restaurant is closed until further notice (sandwiches and snacks sold by snack shop).

Absolutely beautiful setting on the shore of this green glacial lake. Our chalet was a little dated but the siting more than made up for it. We had lovely lunch and evening meal in the restaurant there. Great circuit walk of the lake gives views from all directions.
