Location is great and in the mountains. The entrance is a quick turn off the highway into their drive. The rooms on the first floor only have a view of brush but are clean, simple and you won't be spending much time in it anyway. The restaurant is fine dining and really good. High quality food and service. It backs out to a view of the mountains. Good place to walk around and take it all in.

We stayed here this past weekend for a wedding and it is an absolutely beautiful location! However, we ran into a couple issues with our stay over the 3 nights we were there. We stayed in one of their mountain view rooms and firstly the room was very cold. We turned up the thermostat which did nothing. When we notified staff upon check out, they said they had turned off the heating the week before because the rooms had been too hot. This didn't go well since it went down to 6 degrees Celsius at night and it was raining. The room felt incredibly damp as well from the weather and lack of heating. Staff said they have space heaters at the front desk available for guests however the front desk is not staffed at night so you can't obtain one once the sun has set and the cold sets in. FYI there are also no phones in the room and cell services is poor so you can't call front desk if you need something either. Our room was also ant-infested and the outlet that the coffee maker was plugged into wasn't working. There was also no mini fridge in the room which would've been so beneficial to have given that the restaurant had very limited hours and the closest food to buy is a 40 minute drive down the road. There was an ice machine though so we made do with a cooler and ice... Like I said before, absolutely stunning location but we were not impressed with the room at all.

My boyfriend and I drove from Calgary and stayed the night. We completely and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our experience there. The lodge is clean and beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking, the food is delicious...so are the cocktails. But most of all, the staff are incredibly friendly. I wish I could remember the name of the lady who served us that night, but you'd know her immediately by her long brown hair and lovely smile. She was awesome to talk with and sweet. However, one of the servers named Dustin was the most friendly server I'd ever encountered at a hotel or lodge. He was kind and funny and spoke with my boyfriend and I about places to visit that are not tourist attractions, so they wouldn't be plagued with people. I highly recommend Heather Mountain Lodge if you are passing through Golden, BC, or if you simply want to randomly stay at a wonderful place. Zero complaints, our entire experience was wonderful.

Beautiful scenery and the staff are fantastic. Rooms are great. I was here for a summer time wedding So no comment on their winter operations but their food is very hit of miss. Dinner was Great, the salad... expensive lettuce with very little flavor to the dressing. And the breakfast buffet for 16$/person... worth maybe 8$/person as it is very limited and simple. Coffee is mediocre at best. Not what I expected from a place like this. But if you take away to food portion. No complaints whatsoever :)

Clean rooms. That's all the good I can say about this. Their advertised "scenic mountain views" are completely obscured by trees, and they jacked up prices around the long weekend by $100, which made it very much not worth it to stay there. The room size and amenities in no way justified the cost.
