Most excellent. People like to nit pick about the littlest things. Your in the north, accommodation s are not as easy to maintain or update as it is in the south. The hotel is most welcoming rooms clean and comfortable food is very good. We enjoy coming here everytime I am in Yellowknife which is many times a year since my work takes me to the communities in the Arctic. Enjoy this rest stop very much.

Great experience with a friendly staff. As of July 20th the hotel is under going construction but that has not interrupted the daily functions of the hotel. The restaurant has a wonderful view that looks out into a forest it seems with how densely populated the trees are out side. You feel as though your in the woods. Also if you can't a chance to see the polar bear let him know that I'm ready for round 2!

Very good and tasty meal. My steak was tender and cooked exactly as I ordered it. The pricing is a little high however if you want quality in Yellowknife you're going to pay a bit more.

Fancy place with high but not overly dinner and drinks. Entrees around 30-50 dollars. Beers range from 7-10. Inexpensive to very high end wine and champagne selection. Good selection of cocktails, ranging around the $10 dollar range. There are a few vegetarian options. Food was excellent tasting but did seem to take a long time to arrive for how empty it was. Good for once and while outing. 4/5

Only issue with the Explorer is the tourist groups coming in to see the northern lights. When they get up at oh dark stupid to go see the lights, you're up as well! And again when they return. Best defence: ask for a room on the upper levels. Tourists seem to be on the lower levels of the hotel. Otherwise nice rooms and very good food in the restaurant!
