Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is one of the very best museums I have ever visited. Guided tours are brief and informative and take about half an hour. There are two extra exhibitions you can visit on your own. You should definitely watch the documentary about immigration that takes a little more than twenty minutes. I visited everything and it took me about two and a half hours, so bring some time if you want to enjoy your visit.

Interesting and informative museum dedicated to the history of the settlement of Canada and the waves of immigration that influenced the character of the country we have become. Current updates describe the arrival of refugees, the dangers that they were leaving behind and the challenges that they face as well as the contributions that they have made to Canada. Lots of information and animation to hold the interest of all ages and even access to the records about your own family's arrival to this country.

Very interesting. The staff were very friendly and informative. Would have like to spend more time then was possible with my young son. If I get the chance, I will go back. Very touching and sad at the same time. This is where a number of my family members came to Canada as others and even though I have never been here before it is an emotional and special place for me. Thank you.

What an asset this is for the whole of Canada. You have put so much imagination into the exhibits that we feel a part of history as we interact with everything. We were in Canada to meet family but hadn't thought about looking up the family members who emigrated. We were helped so much that we could track a great uncle back to his ships manifest and identify a relative who travelled with him.
