We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our wedding! The new owners, Katey and Nathan, took over the Herb Garden in fall 2017 and have already implemented many beautiful updates and additions to the already picturesque venue. We appreciated having the venue from Friday-Sunday which gave us tons of time to set-up and decorate, as well as bring in all of our own vendors. The venue itself hardly needs any additional decor as it is already has many cute touches, like signage, renovated bathrooms, patios tables and chairs, arbours, greenhouses, wildflowers and lush gardens, tree-lined fields, a stunning Heritage barn complete with string twinkle lights and a bar - a photographer's dream! Ourselves and our guests adored the venue and all that it had to offer. Katey and Nathan are easy to communicate with, extremely kind and helpful and truly helped ensure our day was the best it could possibly be!

Poor communication throughout the year. To name a few issues: when I called to look at the venue, they had a weekend in Aug available. I went the next day and they were booked until the end of Sept. The amount they told me when I signed and paid my deposit was about 500.00 less than what it ended up being a month later. The 3 weeks before my wedding they went on vacation, so I could not ask them important questions. They told me all tables and chairs could be used. It wasn't until a few weeks before the wedding they told me they couldn't go on the grass (dinner was in a tent). Random things were left from previous weddings. My friends and I put hours and hours cleaning and prepping the venue. Their dogs wandered all around the venue and pooed in the dinner tent. One of my bridesmaids stepped in it twice. They are overall VERY bad at communicating and being consistent. You can save a lot of time, money, and stress by choosing a different venue.

We have mixed feelings about our experience with the Herb Garden. It is a beautiful, well-kept venue with many different areas for your outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, photos, etc. You are given the opportunity to do everything yourself - set up, catering, bar, decor, etc. which is a lot of work but allows you to execute your vision however you like. The owners give you access to the venue for the whole weekend and are very easy-going about all of the mentioned going on at their property. Unfortunately as mentioned in many of the reviews, communication is very limited. I requested a proper rehearsal with George our officiant (one of the owners) twice and never received word back. We assumed she would be there for the rehearsal time we requested and she wasn't. This made for a disorganized ceremony that was already affected by the sudden change in weather. A proper rehearsal would have alleviated stress and made for a smoother ceremony. Overall our guests had a great time, the venue looked beautiful, we just had some added stress due to poor communication and a lack of organization between us and the officiant.
