The Cambridge Butterfly Conservation was a great day outing. We went on a cold day in January to benefit from the warmth of the conservatory's controlled climate and had such a good time, that we stayed for longer than originally planned. The main room where most of the buildings tenants live is a spectrum of habitats that are visually soothing, audibly calming and relaxing to be in. One of the more popular areas is the waterfall area, where there is a bridge and a little pond. Part of the fun is trying to count the turtles, while another part of the fun is being in such a relaxing space. The area can be navigated relatively quickly, but the joy is in slowing down and trying to catch every little detail. There are also thrilling moments when visitors are rallied to witness butterfly releases. I think we paid about $15. to get in as we don't have a membership, but for that we got: Butterflies, birds, turtles and exhibits. We roamed the gift shop, visited the snack stop, utilized the free cloak room, and parking was free. You should go to this place.

My Daughter had a blast. The hands on exhibits they had were a lot of fun and the staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. When its busy it can be a little tight on the walkways, so would suggest leaving the stroller at the front or in the car (if you can), there is a free coat room with lots of space. They have a little cafe but it doesn't have a lot to offer, mostly snacks and a small selection of warm food. A little pricey for what you get, however, the kids loved it and still talk about it and want to go again, so, cant really put a price on that.

If you have young children or grand children or nephews and nieces take them there. They will love you for ever. Nice for a date also.

Just bought a family membership and have already been many times with my 16-month old. Great for this age! If anything, it's a nice warm place to run around during colder months, but he also loves watching the birds, picking up worms with the spoons and looking for turtles. We've enjoyed good homemade food in their cafe for lunch (though maybe a bit pricey?) and the staff are exceptionally friendly and always willing to chat and answer questions. We look forward to many more visits throughout the year!

It's a little smaller than I expected, but they have a huge variety of butterflies. The guides are full of information about different butterflies and there's a little hatching section that's super awesome to see.
