I always enjoy myself @ the Legion. That being said, my husband and I gave up our memberships. We did this for two reasons: The first was when my husband's father died, we both received ( different last names) recorded messages informing us of his death! Also his father's wife received the same. Secondly we always paid our dues early except the yr my husband lost his father in December & his brother less than two months after. - My husband got a phone message to remind him the dues were late. However I received a nasty letter saying I would lose status if my dues weren't paid by a certain date! I was an associate member, my father was a veteran! My husband was just a member. He encouraged me to join the Legion & it was he that was so disillusioned that we did not renew membership. In truth we both miss it many of our friends are members. Also we always have a good time there. I have & so has my husband mentioned the reason for leaving in the past it fell on deaf ears. So no that I am using this forum to talk about what happened; I feel I must apologize to the members we are friends with & the ones that had no idea. It was a big mistake but it is in the past. I truly hope this affects only the people responsible @ the time. As the Legion truly is a fun place to go. Not to mention all the GOOD CHARITY WORK it does!
