A friend and I attended an event by DNA last night, it was truly amazing. My first time experiencing a spoken word event. What made it even more amazing was the live band. Sometimes it baffles me just how talented we are as a people. The venue was great, clean, and they have a super friendly staff. Michelle was one of the highlights of the night. She is one talented young woman not just vocally but she had presence and was very entertaining and I hope that more of us can come out and show our support the next time they’re in Hamilton.

Good Afternoon: I am a very concerned and an upset community member (parent) with regards to Acca’s lack of organization. I have not only supported Acca by attending several of their minimal attendance functions to try and bring the community together but also has had my daughter attend the Saturday youth history classes where someone did not invite her to her own graduation, and now I’ve been told that our Tuesday and Thursday classes in Cultural Dance and African History have been overbooked by Zumba classes that have no relevance culturally speaking and we as parents are being left to scramble and change our schedules? This is not an easy task when many people, especially the children are involved and being pushed out because of ACCAs overbooking our confirmed space. I do believe as apologetic as I am sure ACCA is; it is ACCAs responsibility to inform the Zumba class that Tuesday and Thursdays belong to another organization. I would truly hope in the positiveness of this organization, our community youth and a time for change that someone takes heed to our parental request. Thank you in advance for your time and efforts in this regard!
