The Grand Olympia Hospitality and Convention Centre

Grand Olympia hosted my wedding reception in October of 2022. We had just over 400 guests, used the entire top floor. I realize this review is extremely delayed, but better late than never. Overall, I would recommend Grand Olympia for your special occasion. The team went above and beyond for us, in every aspect, from beginning to end to make sure our day was perfect. During our wedding reception, their level of customer service blew us away, we felt like royalty, we couldn't be happier with our experience. One of the biggest reasons why we chose Grand Olympia was because of how accommodating they were to our requests. They let me bring in my own caterer (therefore I cannot comment on the quality of Grand Olympia's cook), allowed me to hire my own kitchen manager to ensure the food service was running smoothly and on time, and allowed our bar to stay open till 1:30 am, and band playing till 2:00 am, which is usually unheard of when compared to other banquet halls.  A few months after my wedding they renovated the floors in the main upstairs ballroom, it looks beautiful, definitely more modern. Also, the price couldn't be beat.  The manager Caela who was my main point of contact from beginning to end, was exceptionally helpful and always cheerful. The only complaint I would have is that a few months before the wedding she stopped responding frequently to my calls and emails which resulted in me having to show up at the banquet hall in-person to get answers. Those few months were a little frustrating with the lack of communication, however about two weeks before the wedding things went back to normal and she was always there responding quickly to any questions I had. Special shoutout to Kamil who always made sure everything was okay and that we were taken care of, he was a huge contribution to the reason our reception went so smoothly. I had attended multiple weddings (both good and bad) at Grand Olympia in the past which thankfully helped me know what things to focus on for improvements to ensure that they did not happen again during my own wedding. For example, the bar running out of brandy before dinner, the kitchen running behind schedule, the servers serving the second entree before the first, and the bathroom smelling like sewage. Thankfully all these were avoided at my wedding because I made sure to bring them up with Caela in our preparation meetings. Best day of our lives, thank you Grand Olympia for hosting us!

Hosting our event at Grand Olympia was great. Booking was easy and the staff were super helpful with any requests we had. Big shoutout to Caela and Nicole for their awesome help with planning and setting up. The setup was perfect, thanks to their attention to detail. The food was delicious and the music sounded great with the sound system they provided. The staff during the event were really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

My now husband and I secured our contract during the height of 'vid. When we made arrangements with Caela, it was a very pleasant experience. She welcomed us, showed us around and allowed us to customize our package to our preference. We signed the contract for a November 2022 date however, due to 'vid, we had to push our date back another year. Caela was very accommodating and understanding. However, it was during this time that our experience with The Grand Olympia starting to shift. During this time, we tried calling, emailing and texting personal numbers to make arrangements to make payments towards our wedding or to even have questions answered with no response. Four months went by until we received answers. I was very disappointed of The Grand Olympia for this. When I communicated my dissatisfaction, The Grand Olympia took full accountability and did not try to give excuses for their actions which was very much appreciated. Our food tasting was wonderful. The food was hot and the service was great. The food manager, Kamil, walked around and asked for feedback on the service and food. We expressed that the service was great but how we felt the food was salty and he provided us with a smart remark. Fast forward to our wedding rehearsal and our final wedding meeting. In our final meeting, we met with Kamil (who I did not realize was him at first) who went over all of our details. In this meeting, I expressed the concerns with the food manager who would be present at our wedding. However, sometimes certain things need to be heard from the horses mouth. In the leading days to our wedding, both Caela and Kamil were absolutely fantastic. They both added their own personal touches that made our day so beautiful. The day of the wedding was seamless. We often were checked in on to make sure everything was good or if we needed anything. The food during the time we were getting ready was delicious and plentiful. The food during the dinner was hot and delicious. The late night snack buffet was loved by many of our guests. Although the entire experience had its moments of uncertainty, overall, I'm so happy my wedding was held and facilitated by Caela, Kamil and The Grand Olympia. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking to book an event, especially a wedding.

My bridal shower was hosted at The Grand Olympia this past Sunday, and it was absolutely fantastic! Maria went above and beyond and her and the staff at Grand Olympia were very responsive about any questions we had. Additionally, Camille and the serving staff were on the ball, and gave such amazing service! The food was absolutely delicious. Would 10/10 host another event here, and can't wait to come back.

Had our most special day here at the Grand Olympia. The staff are a pleasant to work and deal with. They are very helpful with all your needs and recommendations are also such a great help. The food was fantastic, the new renovations just make the hall that much greater. A special thank you to Caela and Kamil for all they did for us to make that day the most memorable!
