Unprofessional, be cautious and do not trust the chef who cares more about money than he does about his service especially catering for a wedding. Never leave a deposit for this company unti you try the food. We got scammed to leave a $1000 deposit before we tried the food even when we had to pay per person for the tasting. After the tasting my husband and I decided to go with another caterer and Chris decided he would keep the money even though he promised to return it if we decided to go with another company. We thought we would support a local vendor and business but clearly we were mistaken that this was not a good idea I hope that no one ever have to go through what we did especially when we’re planning a wedding and $1000 can make a big difference.

Chris is amazing - talented chef, a ton of experience in the food/event/wedding industry, super organized, and his admin & catering crew are very professional and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

They catered my cousins wedding and it was awful. It took 1 hour to just get the salad on the table. Also they didn't buss any of the tables after and the beef was so over cooked. They said the the owner that everyone loved it but they didn't even ask how our meal was. the next day they left all the cutlery, plates and the melted ice cream for us to clean up. They really don't even deserve 1 star but it's the lowest rating. I could go on and on but I don't want to waste my time talking about them.

My husband and I came across Rural Roots when simply Googling caterers in the Orangeville/Caledon area shortly after we got engaged last July. We connected with Chris and at the time had no idea that we were in the best hands possible! We honestly could not have chosen a better caterer! We got married in a barn with no kitchen, no running water and limited electricity. Chris and his team not only served 150+ people a plated meal but also provided bartenders, servers for cocktail hour and all the necessary staff to clear the tables and clean up at the end of the night! We received endless compliments on the food and people still continue to ask for the soup recipe! The day of went off with not a single issue and we are so thankful! I also should mention the communication leading up to the wedding, it was so helpful and always reassuring. Any time I had a question or was panicking about little details Chris would have a solution. He made it seem easy and that is exactly how the night went! The biggest things for me when planning our wedding were price, quality and effective communication, I would rate Rural Roots Catering a solid 5 star in each category! For anyone looking, look no further, Rural Roots is amazing…and order the soup!!
