Wonderful staff, probably the friendliest people you will ever meet. A huge lawn for lawn games, coupled with a swimming pool and trails through the woods. Unlike other hotels on the Island, this one feels secluded, but is a 5 minute bike ride from downtown. The rooms are spacious with awesome balcony views. I've stayed here probably a dozen times with my family, and we haven't considered any other hotels on Mackinac except this one.

I just returned from my second visit at Stonecliffe, and it was my best vacation yet. I've traveled all over the world and truly this was my favorite experience - the location and grounds could not be more serene and relaxing, it's like something straight out of a Jane Austen novel! It's removed enough from the downtown area to be peaceful and close enough to enjoy a beautiful walk or carriage ride. The staff was particularly enjoyable, especially George at our morning breakfasts and Jessica, who always seemed to be around at breakfast, dinner, or at the bar. They really stood out as kind to my family, especially with my two little ones. The manager, Lisa, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and sweet to my daughters as well. I cannot wait to plan my next trip back!

No elevators for guests, no air conditioning in rooms. Room rate was very high despite this. The breakfast was good. The staff was accommodating however the evening staff quoted different terms for bike rentals. Be prepared to schedule pier shuttle a day before needed. The hotel shuttle is not complementary.

Anytime we left the lights powered they would flicker or turn on by themselves. However if we turned the power all the way off, they would not. Hotel claims they're haunted and that's why lights flicker. I feel if it was Supernatural it could be done with the power off also, and perhaps just bad wiring. Beautifully appointed room, very spacious, great View, no AC and lots of tourist noise if Windows left open.

The suite we stayed in was enormous, elegant and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was diverse and delicious, the service was exceptional. Such a lovely experience, I didn’t want it to end!
