Stayed in a 2 queen room, pretty nice, older style hotel. But that's kinda the point on the island (takes you back in time)! The breakfast buffet was decent the food could have been nicer for the amount of money we spent to eat there. The restaurant at the hotel had a very nice lunch and dinner menu. The view from the hotel was amazing, looks over the lake and has chairs you can sit in and relax right on the water front! Can't wait to go back!!

Everyone is very nice here! It's one of the only places you can stay with your dog and it is great. Doesn't smell like dog or look dirty! The rooms are very clean with plenty of room. It seemed strange at first to have a sink in the bedroom but it made having multiple people staying in the room so much easier. You have access to a sink while someone else can go to the restroom and shower. And there is a huge open area in front of the resort that you can let your dog run! I will definitely be back!

Beautiful setting, great food, many amenities. Hot tub was not hot enough, many of the rooms are small. We have been here twice and enjoy the gardens and the beautiful setting. Staff are great.

Beautiful property on idyllic Mackinac Island. Rustic feel with well maintained grounds. Spacious accommodations and friendly staff. Formal dining room and conference friendly. Easy walk to anywhere on the island during the daytime, tax is are easily accessible. Property is family friendly.

The property is beautiful and the room was clean. We were completely mislead when booking. We paid $300+ per night and the room we got was not even close to what was expected. We were told we were booking a room with a spectacular view of the lake and when we got there the room we got was way in the back In the straights lodge, it was NOT a spectacular view of the lake. The view was of the street and additional lodging. It was very outdated and small for our party of 3. The bathtub did not drain and it was very difficult to adjust the cold and hot water. The air conditioning unit in the room was very noisy and when watching tv the volume had to be up pretty high. Overall not a good experience. Unless big changes and more honest explanations of the room while booking we would not stay on the property again.
