At first I didn't want to get a wedding planner, and didn't think we needed one, but somehow my wife talked me into it. One of the best decisions I ever made. My wife and I knew from the beginning that we would want a more casual wedding, still classy and everything, but where your friends feel comfortable and can have fun. Seeing some of Jennie's other work, my concern was that she only planned super fancy extravagant weddings with unlimited budgets. When we met and discussed our options though, she had a lot of innovative ways of really making it a beautiful wedding even on my more modest budget. She was super flexible on everything, but also made sure to let us know what her experience has shown to work well. She thought of things we definitely never would have, and these details are what we remember now, a few months later. Most importantly, on the actual day of the wedding, everything (the band, food, treats table, photographer, my wife's makeup and hair, the beautiful decorations) was exactly in place and on-time without us even having to think about it. We were free to just relax and have fun with our friends and family, which made it really special instead of a stressful chore like I was dreading. She is clearly a very organized person. Can't recommend Jennie enough, and I strongly suggest you book a meeting if you're considering a wedding planner.

My sister got married this passed summer and she had a very specific vision for her outdoor wedding at Kurtz Orchard. She spent so much time interviewing many different wedding planners and unfortunately was over sold by Jennie. Some have the skillset and some don't. Jennie should not be in the Wedding business, especially not for complex weddings with many moving parts. This was a wedding that required a very organized planner to oversee , take charge and execute. All details were missed, many items that my sister paid for and had available at the venue were not implemented as agreed upon. Jennie had no control over schedule, vendors, or even the bridal party. She was in the background doing Labour no front end management. Its a shame we trusted such an expensive wedding in her hands. The guests later commented that they had no idea there was a planner. As her sister I was the one that took over the role of planner after I asked her to get the bridal party lined up for the ceremony and she told me "its not my job to know who is in the bridal party". I took over the coordination with DJ, the speeches, the organization of the evening and missed my dinner because of it. I should also mention that due to Jennie's absence at all times when it counted I had to step in and don't have one wedding photo with my family. Jennie really brought lots of stress and tears to the close family seeing that she is not in charge and although we were proactive to hire someone to overtake this role we were still left alone to coordinate and control the day and night. I don't recommend using Jennie for weddings.

Going with Jennie as our day-of-coordinator was the only horrible decision I made for my wedding day. If it wasn’t for my family who stepped in and took over on most of the coordination of the day, things would have been a disaster. She didn’t have control over what was happening or when - in fact my sister had to rework the itinerary she created because it was so amateur. On the day of, when I asked her if the DJ had arrived, she shrugged and said ‘how am I supposed to know’ - I had to ask that she call him!? he was 1.5 hours behind!!! I ran an hour late on hair and makeup because she didn’t keep anyone on any timelines. She didn’t seem to think that was her problem. Because of that we missed pictures with our guests and had only 30 mins to shoot pictures with my husband after our ceremony. She was MIA as a Coordinator for most of our day, doing mostly the labour work for set up/tear down (we had an outdoor wedding, with 2 sites for the day - as the coordinator she should have been able to anticipate the time required and hired help so that she could actually coordinate, not just do labour). She left our wedding without having even said goodbye and later we realized we hadn’t even gotten our cake cut and served for guests! The worst part is that the list goes on! It took me 7months to write this review, hoping that I get some perspective with time - and I have - Jennie should definitely not be a wedding coordinator, she completely missed the mark on what would have made her valuable on our wedding day. No follow up, no request for feedback. Still dealing with disappointment that came from her lack of competence and from her leaning entirely on me and my family to pick up for her shortcomings. I would never, ever, recommend Jennie to any bride.

I knew that my wedding was going to be quite complex, because it was very much a DIY type of event at Balls Falls. After meeting with a couple local planners I am SO pleased with my decision to choose A Divine Affair to help me put all of the pieces together. Jennie was so pleasant, organised, creative and professional. I really felt that she went above and beyond with her services. She had multiple recommendations for us for every aspect of our wedding that we needed to pull together ourselves (big stuff - down to small details)...(flowers, decor, catering, linens, photography, transportation, entertainment, venues, hair and makeup, favours etc, etc...). We would have been completely lost without her. Jennie was very involved and made sure that we were meeting our timelines for all of our bookings to ensure that we didn't miss anything. She even accompanied us to MANY of our meetings with vendors to ensure we were asking the right questions and getting all of the details. Having Jennie there to advocate for us and pretty much do the legwork for us took off the pressure and stress. I am so grateful that we had someone with such expertise and really took our vision for our special day and made it come together painlessly. She also attended our rehearsal to make sure we all knew what we were doing! On our wedding day Jennie was at our venues bright and early to ensure that everything was set up correctly and in a timely manner. She helped arrange all of the transportation for the wedding party (coming from different locations). She took care of directing all of our vendors and was in close contact with our musicians, MC, DJ and the caterer all night to ensure that things ran smoothly and flawlessly. She came prepared and even helped us out with a couple wardrobe malfunctions - truly saved the day! She took care of our birdcage with all of the cards to ensure they were kept in a safe place and also kept track of our envelopes to ensure all of our vendors were paid before they left so that my husband and I didn't have to take time away from our friends and family to deal with the business side of the day. I honestly can't recommend Jennie and her services enough. We really put all of our trust in her to make sure that our day was nothing short of amazing and she delivered exactly that. She was patient with us and walked us through every step while making sure that we were happy and comfortable with every decision. We all had such a great experience with her. I hope that I don't get married again - but if I do, she will be my first phone call!!

We had Jennie as our month-of/day-of coordinator, and we couldn't have asked for someone better to help make this day so amazing! From the moment I met her I knew she was the perfect match for us, and perfect for the job! She took care of everything on the day of our wedding and I felt extremely at ease the whole day knowing she was there and had it all covered. Our day was PERFECT and we got to enjoy every last bit of it! I would 100% recommend her to anyone getting married!
