Love this venue for events, there is so much you can do with the space by adding decor and finishing touches. Food is always amazing as it's catered by Oliver and bonachini.

It’s a nice place. Good for different kind of events. Food is good and services are good too.

Was here for an event. The venue is good if you need an event space. Bit confusing to locate at first. Right in a subway stop, and some good restaurant options nearby if you'd prefer to step out. Easy walking distance to the financial district.

Very opulent and we'll appointed decor. Quite elegant. The food quality was excellent and the service quite professionally managed. The reason for the four rather than five star rating, was the crowd flow and bathroom location. Difficult to navigate hall outside the ballroom. Coat check was a little slow in and out. The bathroom is somewhat difficult to find. And not that the Carlu is responsible for this but if you're a die hard driver of your own vehicle, (as a commuter from the burbs) parking is brutal. Being right on Bay and College at College Park, public transportation is the most convenient to access this venue. We were there for a charitable event. Gilda's House, and that is one awesome organization. Offering support to people and their family's going through cancer. Heard heart wrenching testimony of a young lady who had endured and survived a life threatening brain cancer and has recovered, met the man of her dreams and recently become pregnant, much to the surprise and against unbelievable odds of her doing so. Great organization, great food and pretty darn good venue.

I love the Carlu. The only thing that bothered me was if you put your half full drink down so you could take a photo or hug someone, the wait staff would clear your glass without asking if you were finished with it. This happened often to many people while we were at an event. I know it drives bar sales, because people will go buy another drink. We got tired of buying a full drink and only getting to drink half. Never put a drink down here, or you will lose it to the over zealous wait staff.
