Went with big brother big sister's as I volunteer there. They have food, lots of animals and are currently doing renovations on the park. I have been going there since a little child and i really do like it there. The only thing I wished I saw was a larger enclosure for the bears. They have a map that you can use to help you get around. Lots of different building to enter to see different kinds of animals. Interactions with devices to learn about animals in one of the buildings too! I would definitely recommend at least dedicating 2 hours to see everything (min).

I'll be honest - I hate zoos. I only go because my kids want to go. I try to be enthusiastic about them, but it's hard. We've been to the Winnipeg Zoo several times (a very expensive venture for our family of 7), and I find it overwhelming. The Forestry Park Zoo is the right size for me - not too big, but big enough to make the kids happy. The kids saw a bunch of animals, it was reasonably priced (I think it was $25 for my whole family, vs. almost $100 for Winnipeg), and the train ride was fun. I was slightly disappointed that a chunk was under redevelopment, but that's life.

This is the first time I have visited. I enjoyed it, lots of walking and animals. Only thing was went late afternoon when it was hot out and they were in shade or in their houses. Will be back next year to do another tour. If you have children I recommend taking them on a train ride around there.

Very pretty and good paths. In the past they've had some really interesting animals. They're also repairing the road to get in which is well needed. A few down sides are their current lack of animals, small cages, and confusing exit. Overall this zoo is decent for the size of the city but nothing spectacular.

This review is for the park surrounding the actual Zoo. Beautiful park. Lots of trees, grassy areas, a modern playground. Canadian Geese (in the right season) randomly around the park. A store to get cold drinks and a snack. The grounds staff are friendly and hard at work, keeping the park beautiful. This is all free if you enter on the pedestrian paths. Vehicle traffic has a modest fee.
