Blue green algae alert

Feb 6, 2018
Interesting area for ice fishing. I joined a friend here for my first go at the sport and we were a bit unlucky. We did manage 1 pike each but no further bites. If you bring a tent the reservoir is extremely calm in the winter so you can see perfectly into the water and watch the fish swim up to inspect your bait. Be extremely careful around the entry points/boat launches especially if you are driving a lower vehicle. It gets slick and you may find it difficult or impossible to get back up so don't risk it with low riders. Take a sled out for your gear, it's safer. It's not usually too busy here so it can be good for just relaxing in quiet and fishing
