This place is a gem. So beautiful. Wonderful for swimming, kanuing, paddle boarding or just having a nice picnic. I saw people fishing as well but not sure how good it is for angling. Two gorgeous beaches of which one of them is a very beautiful shallow beach amazing for kids. 2 min drive to Sasquatch Park campground. Totally recommend

If you can get a campsite, you will be fortunate because this is a very popular spot. It's proximity to Harrison Hot Springs is a 10 minute drive, and if you need something in this that isn't available in this "one street town" then Agassiz is another 10 minutes away where propane, a Mechanic, Supermarket, Drugstore, and select Bakeries and such can be found. The campsite itself is VERY nice, kept well by a small friendly and well informed staff. The sites are nice, a select few with a view of Hicks Lake through some shrubbery, but all are a short walk to the waterside. There are many access points to the water and could be considered excellent vantage points to have a private beach for the day if one was to forfeit going to the campsite private beach or the public beach on the other side of the peninsula which the campsite is located. The hike around the lake is about 2.5 hours and can be done in 2 hours without too much effort. But access to the water beyond the campsite boundaries itself is limited. One thing that we found difficult was the mosquitos, but it could have been the season and/or timing. It has been a wet Spring of 2018 and now that it's starting to warm up, we were happy to have bug spray. Without it, it could have been miserable. Another good and possibly negative thing is the First Come First Serve sites. It's nice that these are available (I think I counted seven sites, which are TENT ONLY sites). If you can get a spot, be prepared for tighter quarters. Imagine the size of a parking space for the tent plus an area for the car. Some of the end-zone sites (4 total) are a bit bigger but these will get occupied first unless you arrive early. Also if you end up in the middle sites, be prepared for little privacy since there are no trees or shrubs to divide you from your neighbor; which also reminds us all to be good neighbors (noise, smoke, and late-night chit-chat, etc) when we are here.

Beautiful lake. Great for kayaking, canoeing etc. No big power boats allowed so it is quiet. Nice hike around West side to great beach at South end. Close to Vancouver. Most sites get very little sun. Sites 48-67 are quite close together. Other sites are typical excellent Provincial Park camping.

Camped on there for 3 nights 4 days, amazingly beautiful and relaxing. Also loved the little towns close by. The rangers were a treat, full of knowledge and personal. Would 100% go again.

Nice place to get away, definitely kid friendly. Firewood is delivered to site by rangers and at a good price too. Don't forget your bug repellent though.
