Very rude and arrogant staff, terrible customer service. Would not visit again or recommend. We had an hour to kill while waiting for the ferry back to Victoria and decided to grab a snack at the marina. My 3 year old needed to use the washroom so I asked if there was one available. The lady in the cafe asked if I was moored in the marina or staying in a cottage. I said neither but I was going to order some food. She told me that there was a code for the washrooms but she did not give me the code and then began to assist the next customer. I continued to wait for her to provide me with the code but she ignored me. I asked the cashier for the code and he reluctantly gave it to me. I thought that her behaviour was odd but continued to be polite and waited for our food to be prepared. While I was waiting, my friend came in and asked to use the restroom. Again, the lady in the cafe asked if he was moored in the marina or a guest at the cottages. He said neither, his family had ordered food earlier. She then explained that she needed to know which bathroom code to give him. She insisted that he choose between marina or cottage... he randomly chose cottage. She replied with a "psht", "Not a chance". At that point, I realized that yes, she was definitely rude and the way she treated me was not an isolated incident. I am not sure why she would set him up with the choice between marina or cottage if she was just going to scoff at his answer. I would not recommend this marina to anyone unless you enjoy snobbery. Instead, visit the Port Browning Marina. They are welcoming to anyone and everyone, have an outdoor pool, ice cream shop, pub, secluded beach, kayak rentals, camping, etc...

We have been coming to Otter Bay Marina for years and it just keeps getting better. Thank you to Les and Karen you are doing a great job of managing Otter Bay, you are always accommodating and the grounds and facilities are beautiful and well maintained. We always look forward to our visits.

We stopped in for some food while waiting for the ferry. The staff in the Bistro were very unfriendly. Maybe they don't like people who aren't guests. Edit: Their response below is confirmation of their attitude towards guests. It's quite something that they actually think paying for some food and sitting on chairs is "enjoying the hospitality of [their] facilities free of charge." BTW Otter Bay Marina, that was not my wife. My wife was the one who ordered a smoothie and a muffin(in case you'd also like to publicly review her etiquette).

Should have read the reviews before we went! We have been dropping in on the Otter Bay Marina off and on for the last 38 years. It’s been a couple since we were last there and hearing that there had been some changes we wanted to get a treat in the store and scout it out for a future yacht club rendezvous. So we were told as we entered the store that there would be a $10 landing fee, no exceptions for short visits or customers. The result of this unique business practise is that we didn’t buy anything, nixed the plan to come here with the club, or on our own ever again. In those 38 years of boating on the west coast this is the first, and hopefully the last time we have been so blatantly ripped off.

One of the nicest marinas I have stayed in of all the gulf islands. The grounds are beautifully kept, friendly staff, clean pool and friendly well kept docks.
