The lake is gorgeous....calm most of the time. Living by the lake makes me a little spoiled. Can be weedy in the summertime but is great fun in all seasons...fishing, ice fishing, kayaking, tubing, sailing or just chillin' at Beatton beach!

Lots of cool cliffs to look at along the shores. Water is murky and lots of weeds due to high mineral content. It can develop blue green algae during the late summer months, which gathers along the downwind shores. Still a good place to go for a paddle although you'll have to clean off your boat after because it can leave a film. There is a regional campground at the end of the lake so you can make an overnight trip (14 km) of it if you launch from the southern end. There are also two provincial parks on its shores.

Charlie Lake is wonderful in all seasons. Good walleye and pike fishing throughout the year.

My nephew said it was the most fun he had ever had when we took him out tubing.
