This is an amazing place to visit, at least once in your lifetime. The gardens are elaborate and very nicely separated into sections. Everything in the gardens is clean and elegant. Flowers are everywhere and they are all so beautiful. The grass, the trees and the bushes are so nicely kept. The place is continuously maintained at all times. You can see workers at every corner and it shows that they are trained well. There are restrooms available in quite a few locations and they were clean. They have food kiosks and snack places in multiple locations. Make sure that you schedule a full day for this place. The parking was not an issue for us as we got there early morning. If you are taking the ferry the same day, you can take an early ferry and get to the park around the time they open. You could take an earlier ferry back if needed and if they have enough space.

Visiting the Butchart Gardens was well worth the money. It was such a pleasant family experience. The gardens were beautiful, and we definitely didn't see everything in just one day. We anticipated spending a few hours in the morning, but ended up staying until the fireworks (which take place every Saturday night in the summer). There were so many places to stop and enjoy the scenery and the moment. We particularly enjoyed the boat tour - - it cost an extra $19/person and honestly wasn't much of a tour (it just circles around the inlet near the park), but it was very peaceful being out on the water and away from the crowds for a bit. The boat driver even had toys for our toddler to play with. One criticism was that they do not sell bottled water in order to be more environmentally friendly. Instead, they sell reusable bottles in case you didn't bring one and suggest using bottles filling stations. This policy is fine, but there need to be more bottle filling stations. We spent 12 hours in the park and only found two; it's not a small place. We have two young children, both of whom had a wonderful time. There is no entry fee for children under two, and we found the facilities to be more than adequate for our family's needs. There was also a concert in the early evening, and we were able to have a picnic lunch on the lawn and listen to the music. All in all, the Butchart Gardens were a world-class experience and a must-do while visiting Victoria.

If you are in visiting Victoria, this is a must see!! The history and the beauty of the gardens is incredible. For the best time to come (as far as time of year), call or check the website. June was perfect as all the flowers were blooming, the weather was sunny and warm and summer hours had already started. Easy to walk with a stroller/wheel chair and there are places to sit along the way. There are places to eat and a shop for various keepsakes. Bathrooms are located throughout and were very clean. If interested in the history, there are placards throughout, so keep an eye out for them. Also, if wanting to shade yourself from the sun, bring a hat as there are not a lot of covered areas.

Spectacular place to experience. Virtually unchanged over the past 40 years. It’s remarkable how it always feels new. Takes a half day to seeing all comfortably. Suggest seeing it twice in the same day, once in daylight and again after dark. The illumination of the gardens is a whole different sight to behold. So time your histidine accordingly. Words alone can’t express the beauty of the views and the care of the upkeep is self evident.

Beautiful..!! Amazing..!! Wow..!! The whole garden, flowers, trees, colors, aromas everything is beautiful at The Butchart Gardens. My family and I spent half day exploring this beautiful garden. The gardens are nicely separated (Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, rose garden) and very clean. Gift shop has really great collections. Be ready to take tonnes of pictures, as every corner here is incredibly beautiful.
