I work on houses down there mainly, everyone is friendly, the area is beautiful, gorgeous lake. The summers r hot down there so the lake is definitely refreshing.

We have been going here for 3 years and love the place. New owners have taken over and and making a ton of improvements. This is s family campground not a all night party zone. The beautiful beach and water make it worth the stay.

I love the campground. It is one of the nicest area's I have camped. Listen, it's expensive but in my personal opinion and most of my friends and family that have been there, it's worth it even if it has no services. I know there are a few on here that don't like the owner but he has never bothered us. He is strict in order to keep the campground beautiful, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. He doesn't want groups of twenty year olds or disrespectful people. He wants (I assume) more the family campers and people that are respectful to other's around and the environment. If you're looking for an all night party with loud music, this would not be the right campground for you. If you're looking for a beach, warm clear water, friendly campers, a campfire and some jamming on the acoustic guitars then this is the spot.

Just a heads up. This particular place on the map is not the campground Newgate. That would be further south on the same side of the lake. This location is Sweetwater resort and not a camp ground. These reviews are inaccurate.
