This is one of the last intact paddlewheeler ships. It is completely on dry land so you can explore all around and inside. Steam enthusiasts will enjoy seeing the inside of the coal fired boiler, steam pistons and associated equipment. History buffs will like the restorations of how travel was like back then. For a donation, you can even pull the lever to sound the whistle!

This is such a neat experience! Immaculately restored, you really get a sense for how it must have felt to travel on a sternwheeler, back in the day! I really liked the small exhibitions inside, like the one with all the things they found while restoring it, that had slipped down the cracks. Little girl's purses, eye glasses, gum wrappers, pamphlets; they all have a story that brings to life the people who travelled on the Moyie. My 3 year old son and 6 year old daughter loved it as well, and ran all over the place, imagining that they were traveling to parts unknown.

I love this I highly recommend going to see it it was really neat to see it remodelled and walk back through the history of the area and their use of these ships. I would recommend it for all ages, it has its limitations of you have a physical disability (stairs and ladders) but otherwise it's pretty accessible. Very cool to see.

Such a beautiful vessel! Would have loved to have been able to go back to those days and had a cruise on it!! Great history and a beautiful town to visit!

Very informative sternwheeler exhibit - panels detail the building of the SS Moyie and other boats plying the Kootenay at the turn of the century. Good for all ages. Don't miss the second deck staterooms and parlour - very elegant.
