Pitt Lake is the biggest tidal lake in the world. Watch out for the narrow channel from the dock all the way to the first island. There is a beautiful provincial park on the right with wild, free camping right on the beach. Nice waterfall on the left and hot springs if you're willing to walk/bike about 20km past the lake. $15 to launch a boat, $10 for overnight parking and $80 to rent a canoe. If you like the lake, annual pass is the way to go. Beautiful lake right outside Vancouver.

A nice lake to take the boat out, it can be rough sometimes, if you go boating make sure you are aware of the ocean tides and follow the marine charts or buoys and lights or you could get stuck on a sandbar and have to push your boat or wait to the next tide. There is a hot spring in the mountains, 20km logging road bike ride or can use a jet boat upstream. The surrounding mountains offer world class views for those flying above the lake. The area is being used as practice area for General Aviation student pilots. Many blueberries farms use the rich soil, also there is a blueberries processing facility just before getting to the lake. The lake shores is a quiet paradise for many people who own cabins. The logging company, TealJones, is active there, they have daily boat shuttles taking the forestry workers to the camp and back home in the afternoon. You can use a water taxi and load your bike then ride it to the hot springs or go to the campground. The Marina downstream has marine fuel, in case you want to do water sports on the Pitt River. The water is very cold till mid summer, it is important to stay safe at all times.
