Hayward is awesome but starting to get too busy. There's not enough parking for the crowds

Very scenic. Nice lake with lots of surrounding trails and areas for lunch.

Love going here with my family each summer. It can get somewhat crowded. But people are pretty polite and won't tread on your space. The dog beach is also super great with bathrooms and doggie bags. The trails in and around the area are a good variety of difficult and easy. Beautiful place to hang out. Perfect for a barbeque!
