Great selection, helpful employees, but prices are a bit higher. I guess you pay for that service. We bought a compound boy here and were helped by Bill. He's totally awesome, and I'm really glad we spent the extra $25 to buy it here over Amazon. The amount of extra help you receive in terms of setting it up, and getting it matched perfectly to the user is lost with online purchases.

Staff seem nice, but many areas seem to lack direction. From what I understand they gutted the management team a few years back and it really shows. Typical retail shop where some corporate office decided their paycheques are more important than customer experience/service. As for my current experience I've been trying to buy c02 for an air rifle for over a week and nobody can find it despite showing stock. Wasted a pile of money on this damn rifle and can't use it. They don't seem interested in finding a solution and just shrug it off. Giving it a couple more days before I speak to a manager to demand a refund regardless of policy. Had I known this was going to be a problem I never would have spent the money. Very frustrating.

Huge range of equipment and clothing for hunting, camping, fishing, boating, tramping or pretty much any other outdoor activity you can think of. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are some interactive displays set up with stuffed animals to keep kids entertained for a while. Down the back they have a 'bargain cave' and their own indoor archery range. They sell the best pegs for coping with the hard stoney soil in the provincial park camp grounds.

Beautiful store, helpful staff and occasional interactive events. Price for fishing & hunting items comparable to Canadian Tire, but better selection. Clothing prices on the high side.

Cabela's has a great selection sporting goods from the majority of the big name brands. If you can't find it at your local shop it's definitely worth giving them a call or dropping by. While I always try to go to my local shop first, Cabela's has treated me well every time I've called or dropped in. For a big store I they are kind curtious and attentive to both my needs and preference to not be intruded upon.
