Amazing and massive park! This place is vibrant with wildlife and their are tons of places to camp. The only issue we had was a lacking of signage or ranger stations, so be ferry careful while navigating this forest. Trees can be an issue also, since we had to saw one in half that was blocking our entrance into the park! Thank god my buddy brought his handheld chainsaw!

Hiked kettle crest trail south. Was an awesome hike, many spectacular views. Saw one bear, just made a bit of noise and obviously didn't approach it and it watched for 30-40 seconds and left. Had bear mace, I suggest you buy some of your hiking anywhere a bear may be. Don't feed the animals. A fed bear is a dead bear. The trail as of 06/07/18 was mostly clear of snow, just a few spots of snow to go through. Trail was very clear aside from the spots with snow.

This beautiful, expansive place not only had free camping- but also had a variety of terrain styles, water features, and plenty of space to imagine, explore, and roam in. It is bear country, so use precautions and common sense. If you are looking for a camp spot with privacy and plentiful options, this is a good one. Not a plethora of restrooms, be prepared to rough it & pack out your area!

I love the National Forest I go up there as much as I can I love camping up there I love the fact that nobody bothers you up there. What I don't like up there is Wendy's Pinecone cops dress up like they're going from here to Afghanistan with all their War built on hanging AR-15 over their shoulder. And it does happen believe me

Beautiful and quite. Was a perfect place to go and just unwind from the Hussle and bussle of everyday City Life. And best yet it was only an hour away from home. Very easy to find.
