The boat, the humble owner, and the young crew who are extremely fun make the tour a solid five star. Welcome to Halifax! You will find a ferry for $3 in the harbour and a tour with them for a lot more. But your experience might just be limited to 3$ worth. J Farwell really completed the missing piece in Halifax's touristy shore. We took the night tour and one in the afternoon. From sunset dreaming to lighthouse catching during high tide... Its luxury as its best. As a dedicated travel reviewer and critic, take my word and go with them. We will be sending so much business towards them. - Rohan Toronto, Canada

We had a lovely time on the boat For the wine and cheese sail. Gwen and Hanson were very capable sailors and great teachers. We spent equal time sailing and relaxing which was a lot of fun. They told us about the area and the history of Halifax. We recommend this trip to anyone visiting Halifax.

I booked this sailing adventure on the board walk through one of the many tour quiosks. I had previously viewed the 45 Benateau tied up at the boardwalk pier. I booked the 2:00 pm tour with a 1:45 pm boarding time. There were four others on the boat. A couple from England and two young ladies from Hungary. We were graciously greeted by the Captain and vessel owner Jeff. There were an additional two person crew. From the point of boarding to the end of the sail the crew was extremely informative about everything they were doing in relation to sailing the boat. From the beginning all passengers were directed on how to steer the boat, adjust the sails, tacking, jibing , sailing up wind and down. The boat is well equipped. Wine and beer are available for a minimal charge. The wind was out of the north which is unusual..usually blows from the south. We sailed up wind to the bridge and then down wind to George's Island. We reached a top speed of 7.8 knots. This was an amazing sailimg adventure. The Captain and crew are very knowledgeable and really want to see everyone on board get a hands on experience in every way possible. The boat is two years old. She is very comfortable with cushions, and Jeff's Mother's home made blankets if you get cool. We sailed for almost two hours . A beautiful sunny spring day. I have sailed for many years but not on such a beautiful, well miaintained boat. An amazing Captain and crew. This trip is well worth the dollar value. I don not think you will find an experience like this in many other places where you have hands on with such a friendly Captain and crew. As one who has sailed for over fifty years I can now cross this off my bucket list. Go meet Jeff and his crew and sail the yaught JFARWELL.

Terrific experience for family of five with three grade-school-aged children, on a weekday in August 2017. More expensive than other boat tour alternatives in Halifax but money well spent. Lovely boat and opportunity to participate in sailing: tacking, steering etc. Would definitely go again. Can recommend the "Morning Family Fun" option which we chose; apparently some risk of limited available wind in morning but fees lower than for "Signature" sailing cruise later in day. Can highly recommend

Fantastic time! second time on the wine and cheese tour - great presentation of Nova Scotia own wines and suburb cheese. Crew was great and so was the boat. Had friends from out west and what a way to spend a evening sailing and enjoying each others company. highly recommend this sailing tour to anybody looking for a night out! defiantly one of the best kept secrets in Halifax!
