Stopped in here while walking the waterfront, and was enjoying the stock, and seeing new editions of a few books I have. I commented on a few of them (Bowditch, Duttons) and my wife asked about diving manuals. The (clerk/manager/proprietor?) said that really wasn't their focus. I mentioned that I wished I'd kept my manual from the late 70s, and that I'd gone through US Navy diving school with three Canadian diving officers. The staff member said he was headed to a conference to give a talk on problems with the American military, and then proceeded into a diatribe on older white American males being bullies, demanding discounts, and getting angry when being told no. I'm an older white American male. I'd been nothing but complimentary about the shop, the collection, etc, etc. I have NO idea what, if anything, I did to trigger this reaction. My reaction, though, was to leave, post haste, without purchasing anything.

Thursday midnight I ordered 4 engineering books to supplement my self study for powerengineering exams. Friday they shipped and I got a confirming e-mail. Monday morning they were delivered. Fast delivery, and the books were flawless on arrival. Thanks for the speedy delivery.

I called Nautical Mind bookstore to order a book for my son and father, and was blown away by the customer service I received. Having shopped at the store in the past, all of my information was stored in their system and within seconds, I was able to order the books I wanted over the phone and have them shipped to my address (which the store owner already knew), using my credit card that was already saved in their system from my previous visit to the store. I couldn't believe how simple, easy, and fast the entire buying process was. I was so impressed that I decided to add another book for my daughter to the order as well. It was easier than shopping on Amazon and I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for nautical adventure books! - Colin Brown (President and CEO of eBridge)

I had a BIG technical issue with a purchase. The owner contacted me by telephone, followed up on the issue and got me in touch with an excellent tech support staff. Very helpful, thank you very much for caring.
