Aug 16, 2015
My gratitude to the good fellows aboard the Cape Dundas. On Sunday, August 16, 2015, my 32' boat ran out of fuel on the Detroit River, east of the Ambassador Bridge. The crew of Cape Dundas quickly arrived on the scene, and made sure my wife and I were OK. As we began drifting close to the Detroit shoreline, they began using the propwash of the Dundas to help keep us offshore. They repeated this process a number of times until a towboat arrived to take us in for fuel. We are extremely grateful to the Canadian Coast Guard, and in particular the crew of the Cape Dundas for their unsolicited response, outstanding professionalism and quick thinking Our afternoon might have otherwise turned out quite differently, Frank Soos Vermilion, Ohio
