I ran up on some rocks in Sturgeon Lake. The staff from Birch Point responded immediately. Freed the boat from the rocks and towed us back to the Marina. We were out of the water and put on blocks within 30 minutes looking at the damage. Thanks for the quick response and professionalism of the staff. Much appreciated.

Birch Point Marina (Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada) ran an ad on Kijiji for a 27' sailboat. I was interested and replied. Granted, the boat was being offered at below market price and would not represent a significant profit or commission for them. Nevertheless, they have offered the boat on a public website for sale. I spent the morning today doing extensive planning to buy and ship this boat to the USA. This involved contacting the seller, marine surveyor, customs broker, yacht transporters and trailer manufacturers. The boat had no trailer. Upon calling Jeff at Birch Point a second time for a critical dimension needed to buy a trailer, he became abusive and profane in his choice of words. I was respectful and patient with him and he was too busy and important to deal with me in a businesslike manner. Planning this purchase long distance involves a significant investment of my time and trouble. When a seller cannot afford a couple minutes of their time to provide simple info needed by the buyer without losing patience an degrading the buyer with profanity, I choose to move on no matter how great the value may have been. This seller should not advertise boats he has no time or patience to sell. Loser.
