A truly memorable and now life long experience. For about a decade I wanted to learn to sail but always told myself that is would be too difficult or two expensive a hobby to attempt. After a friend completed sail school with Seven Seas I was surprised to hear how affordable it was to learn to sail ($350 with a guarantee to graduate!). My fiance, a friend and I decided were going to learn to sail the summer of 2016. We are now all "Captains" and feel more more confident in our skills every year. After graduation there is an option to rent the boats for the season ($650 per registered captain.) In our case of 3 people (we picked one captain to register) this makes rental of a sail boat less than $250 a person for the season! If you want to learn to sail and continue to sail this is the most affordable option in Buffalo. I would and I have recommend this sailing school/ club to my friends. A note for those interested, the club house does look well loved in a margaritavilleesk style, but this allows the classroom sessions to be held on the water. The boats are donated and older but this makes them perfect for learning. I would not want to learn on a $400k yacht as you will bump into things and make plenty of mistakes. The captains will not allow you to graduate until they feel you can safely handle the boat by yourself. The boats are in the water from early/mid May until mid/late October, 6 Months!

I have been part of Seven Seas for 3 years and I’m quite happy. Having Lake Erie vast areas to enjoy, I made a decision to certify myself through US Sailing at Seven Seas and was pleased with the captain instructors who always focused on safety and proper technique. Learning started with smaller boats and in groups and it is up to the student to step up the game and make the most of every class. I now sail the school bigger boats by myself with my wife and enjoy that greatly. Volunteering at the school is also a great opportunity down the road if you want to get more involved in the community. There is always something to do. This is not your Florida Yacht Club but well... we are in Buffalo... and there are still months of sailing to enjoy. And the Lake sunset is priceless!!! Capt. Bill and his crew of captains are ready to support those getting into the sport and enjoy it.

I've always wanted to learn how to sail but never had the time. The guys down at Seven Seas, especially Captain Bill, really made every single accommodation for me and let me make my own schedule. The guys are really friendly, very experienced, and give safety very high priority. Now I'm confident to sail by myself.

Great bunch of sailors. Learning is at your own pace, no pressure. You can even go back for a refresher, if you feel that you need it, at no charge. Boats aren't the latest and flashiest, but they don't grumble when you hit rocks, ground them and bump them into the dock.

The Seven Seas staff opened the door to an amazing new chapter in our lives. We worked hard to become certified to sail in 6 weeks and the staff honored and supported our goals. We sailed on Seven Seas boats over 30 times our 1st summer with them. There's much too learn and the captains are eager to teach. We were transformed into sailors at Seven Seas.
