We rented Lady II for a week. It was an awesome experience. Half of us had been on a houseboat before and the rest of us hadn’t. We all were able to relax and do what we wanted! Caught a lot of fish! Everyone at Rainy Lake Houseboats was great- very helpful and accommodating. We will be back!

Tons of fun! Just make sure whoever is driving takes their responsibility serious and is paying attention to the map, buoys, and how the generators function, etc. I had a fantastic bachelor party experience with my group of friends and would recommend!

Rainy Lake itself is gorgeous! The views were incredible and even though the fishing was slow, I still had a blast! Unfortunately cannot say the same for this business. When we first arrived, I was surprised by the young boys I saw... sitting around. They mostly talked to themselves and seemed reluctant help us load our gear into the boat (although I did appreciate the help). One gentleman ( I believe he was in one way or another the manager) walked us through the map of Rainy lake and explained the basics of steering, reading the map, the radio, etc. The whole thing was rushed and impersonal. I would have liked someone who was excited about our trip and our business. He was not. After our trip, on the way to docking, he boarded the boat again to help guide us in. This is where it got scary. I was initially thinking he should probably ask how our trip was, what we saw, caught, etc. He did not. He took the steering wheel and practically started screaming that we were going to hit a rock. Not realizing both my father and my husband were at the back of the boat, he hits the gas. My husband fell into his fishing boat and hit his shoulder. My father nearly fell on the propellers. This could have been a serious accident. I was astonished by the complete lack of regard for anything other than the vessel and he never apologized for this. I feel compelled to give this business 2 stars because I think they are a good business but I would have appreciated better customer service. I am sad I cannot recommend them since Rainy Lake itself is so breathtaking.

We recently rented the Lady II houseboat for a Tues-Friday trip. It was an awesome experience, boat worked out great and was a lot of fun. Everyone at the rental office was super nice and helpful. The only issue that we experienced was getting fishing licenses on-site and that had more to do with the licensing system, I would suggest doing this in advance of your trip.
