Visited southmere park from croydon one hot sunny afternoon just for something to do. Big misfits fans.as we walked around the lake we saw crowds of people gathering the other side in front of the famous flats.i wanted to go round to see what was going on but wife was a bit nervous but she reluctantly followed me round. It turned out the residents were having some sort of photo shoot the camera was set up on top of the boating centre.we mingled in with crowd there was music playing free food the people were so friendly lovely atmosphere what a great afternoon.

A beautiful unexpected surprise on the edge of the brutalist architecture of the Thamesmead Estate. Several pairs of swans followed me and my family as we walked around the edge of Southmere Lake.

Sadly it is closing down October 2017. I used to go there for a program called Youth Nights where young people could go and kayak for only £5 a session. I loved every bit of it! the staff were friendly and were vey co-operative. Laura Giles and Hannah, if you are reading this message, I wanted to say thankyou for everything you did. from a young black boy babs
