Fort Niagara State Park is fairly large, with plenty of spaces to picnic or let your family play. It has good spaces to walk your dog, and great views of the lake. There are nice toilets here, though they are a little spread out. It's good to have them though as they are much more than just porta-potties. The renovated pool/bathhouse area is such an improvement on the old one! The bathhouse will make you feel like you're walking into a nice gym's changing/shower/bathrooms, and the pool is large enough to fit many people while still giving you some personal space. It has a nice area to sit in around it and relax or watch your kids from. And the lifeguards are very attentive. I'm not sure if there are lockers here, so you might want to secure your belongings in your car.

Visited here on a quick 1:30hr Tour and boy I wished I could've stayed longer to appreciate in detail this fine built fort. Great historic place, with actual battles fought there, where soldiers fell. Great American/French/British history, one to keep in the books, you can almost feel the souls of the past soldiers lingering in the area due to how well kept this place is! The view to lake Ontario is amazing from here!

Old Fort Niagara is the focal point of the park and is rich in history spanning more than 300 years. Originally a fortification built to protect the interests of New France, taken over by the British in 1759 who maintained control until 1796 when the fort was ceded by treaty to the United States. The British again took the fort in 1813 only to cede it back to the US in 1815. There are several reenactments each year that celebrate and relive events and battles that occurred during each historical period - French and Indian war, American Revolution, and the war of 1812. The park also includes other historic sites including a cemetery, lighthouse, and visitor center. There are picnic areas, a public swimming pool and other amenities to enjoy.

A wonderful and fun filled day spent learning the history, touring the multiple buildings and experiencing the 1813 battle of American vs British control of the fort. The reenactment volunteers were informative, friendly and never went out of character. Loved experiencing the history that is so close to where we live. The park also has a wonderful pool area, picnic and playground area to enjoy!

Great place to visit. The staff is very knowledgeable about the history of the fort and how it was ran and what happened there. They were outfits from colonial times and put on shoes to not entertain the visitors but it taught us what had happened at the fort. The area is beautiful and a gorgeous area to visit.
