Excellent teachers that really care about their students. This is a great studio for the child that wants to learn, have fun, make friends and participate in a few festivals/competitions.

Being a part of Riverbend Dance Academy was a great experience. It is not only a dance school, but a community of friendly instructors, parents and kids interested in quality dance instruction in an age-appropriate, encouraging atmosphere. Marilyn takes time to know each dancer and family personally and does whatever she can to facilitate their learning. The studio is very organized and runs smoothly. It is rare to find a business owner who takes such pride in her work. There is no unhealthy emphasis on competition or body image. Emphasis is on achievement, athleticism, age appropriate fun, and being a team player.

I spent a large amount of my childhood years as a dancer at this studio and moved on to be a teaching assistant and finally a Dance Instructor at Riverbend Dance Academy. This studio was like a second home to me and saw me through various major transitions in my life from childhood, through to university and finally to law school. I have wonderful memories of fun and challenging times at the studio, travelling with Marilyn and fellow dancers to competitions and events and eventually passing along the years of dance knowledge I gained to new young dancers. In addition to being taught various genres of dance I was taught life long lessons such as respect, team work, perseverance and commitment. Today, as a grown woman living across the world from Edmonton, Marilyn is one of the few people I keep in regular contact with and always endeavor to see when I return home for a visit. Marilyn began as my dance teacher, then was my mentor, then my employer but she has always been and continues to remain a very good friend. Anyone who chooses to have their children attend dance classes at Riverbend Dance Academy will not be dissapointed and those who are lucky enough to be taught directly by Marilyn will benefit beyond measure.

I first came to RDA with a friend to try tap dancing when I was 10 years old. Marilyn was my dance instructor for almost 10 years after that. She taught me the importance of team work, hard work, and dedication from a young age. Marilyn coached me to become the best dancer possible and I am so grateful for that. I was able to accomplish things I am still proud of thanks to her and RDA.

Not just a dance studio but a true family. I spent most of my childhood in this studio and I couldn't be more proud. They helped me become an exceptional dancer and always pushed me to do my best. The coreographers are always thinking of fresh ideas and challenging you to reach out of your comfort zone. A great place to dance!!
